"In the dark colony of night, when I consider man's magnificent capacity for malice, madness, folly, envy, rage, and destructiveness, and I wonder whether we shall not end up as breakfast for newts and polyps, I seem to hear the muffled cries of all the words in all the books with covers closed."

—Leo C. Rosten

NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK APRIL 9-14

Everyone Should Have a Library Card!

Bring in your over due library books this week and we will waive any fines you may owe.  This is a good time to do your spring cleaning and find all those books you thought you had returned but are really in the bottom of your closet!  NO FINES this week only, so come on to either library.

Tuesday - Come to a Workshop on How to Sample Soil and What Fertilizer to Use, presented by Ray Hiton of the Fores Service.  This workshop will be from 1-2 pm at the La Jara Library.  Learn all about soils and planting.

Friday - Anyone who has never had a library card and comes in to sign up for a new card on April 13 will receive a free ice cream.
